Kerry volunteered for Vietnam, then served a year on the Gridley, a carrier escort, in the Tonkin Gulf. He then volunteered for Swiftboat duty, a very hazardous posting, where he was awarded three Purple Hearts, a Bronze and Silver Star for bravery. How can you be a WWII "veteran" if you joined in 1947 and WWII ended in 1945? By a legal "technicality"? You're as much a REAL WWII "vet" as I am - and I wasn't even born then. Tell any REAL WWII vet the truth and see if they consider you a "Vet" - I think you'll have to face the truth about yourself - you're a phony.
