I actually believe Forbes raised a very important issue --- the massively over-complex and loophole-ridden US federal tax codes.

And... if the political price to be paid for eliminating the 'special tax preference items', loopholes, and pork barrel subsidies that bedevil our tax codes is elimination of graduated tax rates, (and treating ALL income, regardless of source, the same) then I for one will support any such effort.

(Personally, I believe that a small amount of graduation in rates is appropriate for society... but if the only way to dump the loopholes and unfair subsidies is to go with one rate... then I'm onboard.)
