From what I've seen the swift boats had too much draft to make it Cambodia. Lighter 38' jet boats were used to patrol up river.

I've used those. They can run over wet grass. We had two lawyers use one on opening day. Left the switch on and had to slog out of the bottoms. Dead battery. 8 hours after dark humping out in knee deep water. No body went to look for them.
