Re: When you challenge a witness, and catch him out on his own statements.. ..it wipes out his credibility on the rest. You then tend to believe the others.

That is true. If the after-action reports are correct all of the statements of the self described "Veterans for the Truth" are in doubt.

Other than memories of 35 years ago is there anything to suggest that the written after-action reports are false? As there were four or five boats involved in the incident would all of the skippers not be interviewed or report in writing on the circumstances? It does not seem credible that a false report from one officer would be used if the three or four other officers disagreed. I have no military experience so I don't know how after action combat reports are compiled.

No one can trust the details of 35 year old memories. In any investigation different witnesses that have no stake in the matter will describe even recent events differently.

You mention "the other three skippers". The after-action reports list five boats; 3, 23, 43, 51 and 94. Do the swifties concur?

You didn't answer me directly when I asked whether or not you think the after-action reports are fictitious.

I'm not sure what you are referring to about the "windows blown out" bit. The after-action reports also lists the battle damage to Kerry's boat. It could not continue on patrol without repair.
