"because A - When a couple are married in one state the other states are supposed to recognize their marriage"

How does this crap get started?

That is not true. For example, back in the days of segregation, mixed marriages were not recognized in much of the South. If you married in a state where it was legal and then moved to one where it wasn't, you were pretty much SOL. Same is true with respect to polygamous marriages, underage marriages and marriages between people who are too closely related. True, usually nothing is done, but the states do have the right to nullify those marriages.

Here is what the state of Idaho has to say on the matter. www3.state.id.us
Most(if not all) states have similar statutes.
