I fully expect US troops to be somewhere in the Persian Gulf region 5 years and 10 years from now as they were there 10 years ago. They may or may not be based in Iraq. By then Iraq's military and police forces will be strong enough, with training and arms supplied by ourselves and allied countries, to maintain internal security on their own.

That's my opinion anyway.
