The material is only pertinent if there is a Kerry presidency. I doubt that there would be anything in the probate papers that would be harmful to John Kerry. Perhaps harmful to John Heinz, a Republican Senator who apparently had enough clout even after he was dead to get his probate papers sealed one day after his death.

If Kerry is elected president, the perceived lack of transparency in Ms. Kerry's affairs is going to be an ongoing source of speculation. Particularly since she has said that she intends to carry on her work as she has in the past regardless of the outcome of the election. The smart thing for her to do would be to open up the probate records and release her tax returns. If she does not do that prior to the election, my guess is that she will do so if her husband is elected. One week of media frenzy versus four years of siege? An easy decision.
