SUVs parked at traffic lights don't seem to be in charge of anything much at all. They aren't large if they are all the same size. They have to be large compared with something.

Being large is not all good. It's good for catching and eating a brontosaurus or fighting off a Tyrannosaur. But being as small as a mouse, smart, and having dinosaur eggs as part of one's diet is a good way of life.

Monsters waddling along to monster SUVs and being stuck in traffic don't look 'in charge', they look out of control and defeated.
