Innovative Strategies for Successful Drug Development (Dr. Dale Johnson, Chiron Corporation, Emeryville, CA) It has been estimated to cost $800 million and 10 to 15 years to bring a drug to the market using the “conventional” approach. Innovative strategies for drug development, taking advantage of the latest technological advances to decrease the cost and time via the enhancement of rate of success, will be presented." Note: at the February 23-25, 2004 conference Johnson and Parkinson did back to back presentations. Could be coincidence. However, since Chang came into the picture I now look at Chiron.
