Well, he doesn't have much else to run on. Let's see. He was a leader in the anti-war movement in the early 70s who ended up being used by the Communists like a cheap, disease-free whore. Ending the 70s as Dukakis' Lieutenant Governor at the start of the Big Dig was not exactly something to crow about either. He was the neophyte Senator in the 80s who ended up being used by the Communists like a cheap, disease-free whore in Europe and Latin America. He voted against the first Gulf war in the early 90s, cavorted with many radical environmental wackos after that and ended the 90s being a more liberal senator than even a doomed Ted Kennedy. Is it any wonder that he dedicated only 17 out of 5,000+ words of his acceptance speech to his life after Vietnam?
