What no defense stocks? No casinos? No alcohol? How about an ETF for Bangkok brothels? Some CMOs for Afghani Opium fields? A little ABS for Navigo Indian Peyote? Maybe we can sell that to Calsters or Hoop? (California State Teachers Retirement System, Hospitals of Ontario Pension System) "If you let us invest in these, you can retire, just don't tell your students/patients" Now that the socially responsible funds (SRIs) are trillions in size, these ones that miss the 'social' screens must be undervalued. Then again, one day I'd like to see one of the SRIs get sued for investing in Intel (one of their top SRI picks-LOL). Intel has all these operations in places like Phoenix, they use all this fresh water and deliver it back to the city (under some pre-arranged deal), and it is so salinated, the city has to spend millions to clean it and filter it, before it goes back into the water supply. (EDIT: A new meaning for 'Intel Inside') How much water is there in Phoenix again? With the right spin, your 'unethical funds' could be SRI in a New York minute!
