This may explain why Kerry decided to go public about the Swift Boat Vets, the VFW reception got under his skin and he had to lash out.

Speaking objectively, as if I were in Kerry's shoes, I think he should not have done it, it only gives the Swifties crediblility, more crediblity than is good for Kerry.

As someone who opposes Kerry, of course I am glad that he did it.

Bus and his advisors know that Kerry's got a thin skin and can't keep himself from lashing out when he feels the needle going in. It will be interesting to see if that comes out during the debates. Bush may be inarticulate but he knows how to give people the needle.
