Don't confuse NJ with the rest of the country. The NJ state constitution has been manipulated and "interpreted" by the state Supreme Court to accomodate the Dems. Even if federal election law allowed Kerry to drop out and be replaced, what do you think the electorate would do? Just say, OK, we'll elect Joe Replacement instead? The Dems would be a laughing stock.
