I don't see it as Democracy vs Terrorism, but Democracy vs Theocracy. The terrorists are not advocating terrorism in its own right, but as a means to an end. That end is a fundamentalist Islamic theocracy. People will only accept true democracy when they finally accept a separation of religion from government, as brilliantly advocated by our founding fathers. Even though they were religious men, they recognized the pitfalls in a mixture of religion and government.
