I see from the Thurlow article that the 180 is something you sign for yourself, he will probably do it, but has Bush ? ...
Oh, yes. It was a big, big deal when he signed it this spring. Weeks of front page in the media. They all ordered copies and went though it with a fine tooth comb. Turns out there was no "there" there. He did a normal, sloppy, National Guard tour. In those days, you got in, did basic, in Bush's case learned to fly F-102's, and then flew them. The F-102's were being fazed out, and the newbies like Bush did not have much of a chance to fly them. So the Guard didn't really give a sh*t if a flyboy showed up or not.
But Bush's paperwork was complete, and the media was stymied. Nothing to be ashamed or proud of, and Bush didn't ever bring it up.
