Rassman conveniently surfaced just when Kerry's flagging campaign needed a boost to survive. Kerry's camp came up with a story about how Rassman had just contacted them, and previously had written to Kerry years ago at his Senate office. Kerry said, weepingly, "I never got the letter."

A real tear-jerker. Like something out of a movie.

Are we supposed to believe that Kerry's Senate staff was so inept that they lost that important correspondence? What else did they lose or conceal from their boss?

Kerry's camp had to know about Rassman for a long time, and held back for the right opportunity as an ace to play when needed. They would be nothing short of incompetent not to have contacted him long ago.

Call me a cynic, but I bet I'm right.
