Which swifties are you talking about, the 8 who are for Kerry or the 264 who are against Kerry?

I would think that all their memories are faulty.

When I think back to significant, even defining, events in my life back twenty or more years, my memory is like a dream. You can remember a dream if you think about it immediately after you wake up. But what you're remembering later is not the dream itself but what you thought about when you first woke up. It's a partial and probably distorted picture. Additionally, you remember things that are "about you" better than things about insignificant others. I can remember so clearly certain events, like the jury experience I posted about recently, which was so significant in my life, but I remember what was significant to me. I couldn't begin to tell you what anyone else in that jury room did or said.

I think that it is reasonable to assume that the immediate participants in those events for whom the experience was defining would remember mostly what they remember remembering rather than the events themselves. And that those not directly affected would have only foggy recollections of the activities of what others were doing, perhaps made less foggy but not necessarily more accurate due to subsequent comparing of notes with their fellows.

And then there's also the question of self-interest, which also affects memory...

I seriously doubt that anyone there can tell us much about what actually happened.

Maybe we should hypnotize all of them. Either that or quit treating this as anything more than jello.
