I'd say health care needs, especially related to catastrophic accident or illness, tend to be more random in nature and not positively correlated to wealth or income at all.

I believe that income and longevity are definitely correlated. It has a lot to do with medical care and nutrition. Look at GNP versus life expectancy and they correlate very well for the nation of the world. That same correlation exists in the US...the richer you are, the better healthcare you get and the longer you live.
