Kennedy's name accidentally on 'no-fly' list

Friday, August 20, 2004 - Page A10

Washington -- Senator Edward Kennedy, one of the most recognizable figures in U.S. politics, told a committee hearing yesterday that he has been blocked from boarding commercial airline flights several times because his name was accidentally included on a "no-fly" list intended to screen terrorists.

Mr. Kennedy told the U.S. Senate judiciary committee that he was eventually allowed on the flights, but it took numerous calls to the Department of Homeland Security to clear up the mistake.

He wondered aloud how difficult it might be for ordinary Americans to have their names removed if they were mistakenly placed on the watch list. Reuters

.... impossible, i'd say.
