Well, there are two big reasons BESIDES overabundance that have caused hosp. closures. As the article states, influx on emergency rooms and lowering reimbursements. Our fluid border doesnt help matters, LA is a common spot for illegals to sneak to for medical care. Bush is no more to blame then ALL THE POLITICIANS of BOTH PARTIES. Persons like John Edwards that have caused medical malpractice insurance to SOAR and doctors to over treat have certainly not been of any help. The second reason is a tightening of medicare reimbursement rules. Sadly, medicicare has been badly abused by cheats and CALIFORNIA led the nation in that area. jdn
