kerry has lost his kool. he took the risk and decided to stake his claim on the presidency on his 4 month tour in Viet-Nam when he reported to the democrap convention "reporting for duty."

this was a huge miscalculation on his part. did he really think no one would question his awards or leaving his crew after only 4 months in country to return to a plum job in the United States.

2,500,000 military personnel completed a full tour in Viet-Nam with no strings pulled. i have asked many many times for a list of names of personnel who served less than 6 months and then i lengthened it to less than 8 months and got credit for serving a 12 month tour. to this day, the only name on the list is john kerry.

let me give you an example.... we had personnel who were granted emergency leave from Viet-Nam who returned to the states for 30 days. some of these personnel had circumstances which they felt would not allow them to leave the problems they were dealing with and would report into a military installation and request what we called was a compassionate reassignment. most of the requests were denied. however, some were approved and maybe the person in question had been in country (Viet-Nam) for 9 months. guess what? they were not given credit for a tour in Viet-Nam. the compassionate reassignment stabilized them for either 1 or 2 years (i don't recall which) and they were then deployable again. if the emergency situation could not be cleared up in less than 1 or 2 years they would have to give up their military career and request a hardship discharge.

remember, for the most part the personnel types who worked these issues had served full-tours in Viet-Nam and were not easily swayed by stories of despair......

so yes, kerry has a huge creditability problem. for some reason he did not serve a full tour, in Viet-Nam, but got credit for it....... WHY?
