His stock might rise in demo land temporarily, but they only like him because he and Bush had a pissing match in the past.

Once he did what you propose, he would lose the other half of his long time support. That isn't the way to attract a strong following. Meaningful legislation is a far better way. Now his campaign funding legislation has turned out to be non workable. In theory a great idea. At least he tried.

That is where a legislator makes his mark. In the legislature.
