Kerry Might Pay Price for Failing to Strike Back Quickly He was waiting for the major media to squash the story for him. They tried their best (they sat on it for a full 10 days after it hit the internet and the book came out), but they couldn't do it. The major media have lost their power to keep the gates of what becomes a story. If a story has 'legs', Fox, cable news shows, talk radio and blogs can keep it going in spite of their efforts. That's the actually the big story here - what just happened to the media.
