Juan has been like what you describe for a long long time. In the past, he has been able to control himself so that he came off as a thoughtful, though somewhat liberal, thinker. Lately, Juan has gone bonkers. He demonstrates that the only truth he can effectively deal with is that truth which undergirds and supports his original preconceptions.
