Honor and Integrity are the keys here. They are essential parts of the US Military Officer code of ethics. Both were and continue to be violated by Kerry.
Everyone understands the integrity part. All Veterans understand the honor part.
American military officers are required to act honorably. Officers appointed to command have special power over their men. That power is backed by the entire chain of command and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It is a sacred privilege to command and lead American Military Men into battle. The Officers awarded this privilege must bring honor to their men, their unit, their branch of service and the entire US Military.
Kerry has spent years attempting to bring honor to himself by bringing dishonor to his men, his unit, his branch of service, and the rest of our Military Men and Women. That alone makes him "Unfit For Command". Taken alone, the breaches of integrity would also be sufficient. Taken together, they make Kerry unfit for military commissioned service. I believe any military board of officers would recommend dismissal both for what Kerry has done and what he has failed to do as a combat commander.
John Kerry believes with all his heart that war is about heroism. He is wrong. War is about duty and love. It is about doing the duty when our country calls. It is about love of country, love of service and love for your buddies. Kerry never loved his men. He used them and his command status on the battlefield to pad his awards and to escape from completing his duty to his country. He then forgot about those men for over 30 nears. Now, he is attempting to use them once again for his personal gain. John Kerry is not parading these brave men on his stage to honor them. They are there to honor Kerry.
Fortunately 96% of the men and officers in his war unit recognize what is happening and are taking appropriate action. What we are seeing now is called a drumming. Lieutenant (junior grade) John Kerry is being drummed out of the US Navy Swiftboat Veterans for conduct unbecoming an officer.
We should all be proud of the Navy Veterans, both Officer and Enlisted, voluntarily performing this distasteful task. They have but two goals. One is to restore hard-earned honor to their men, their unit and their service. Their second goal is to purge their ranks of the offender. These brave men are cleaning up their own house.
The anti-war, anti-service demonstrators of the 60s and 70s have moved on. Most have become responsible citizens. Yet their prime leader has continued to live the fantasy of a protestor. It is long past time to remove the professional protestor, John Kerry, from his throne. By doing so, I am one Retired US Army and Special Forces Officer who believes that those who fought America's wars will be able to co-mingle with those who fight against war to make America a more beautiful place. For nobody hates war more than those who fight them. unclewest |
