Nah, truth is the TET offensive was a decisive American victory (though you would have never known it from what the media said), and wiped out the entire Viet Cong infrastructure, thus from that point on ALL the troops fighting us would have had to be transported down from N. Vietnam at great cost to them. Has the public supported the war fully I suspect it would have ended somewhat like the Korean action, with an armitice along the original dividing line. Now, saying all that, I admit the Dominoe theory turned out not to be so bad as we originally thought, although a lot of people did lose their lives in Laos, Cambodia and S. Vietnam after it ended.
The TRUTH is the whole damn fiasco was started BY THE FRENCH and as usual we tried to pull THEIR bacon out of the fire, this time we got burnt. Remember I never saw an AMERICAN plantation in Nam, did see FRENCH ONES. jdn
