Got this from briefing. Apparently Barrons rates this
co. higher than coherent for laser technology? Has anyone
seen the article. Is coherent mentioned? Does this have

LASER INDUSTRIES LTD. (LASRF) 17 7/8 +1 7/8. Laser maker of a broad range of aesthetic and surgical laser
systems for use in a variety of medical applications is getting a lift this morning from a positive piece that appeared in
the latest Barron's over the weekend. According to the article, this Israeli maker of lasers has emerged as a leader in the
medical laser industry and is capitalizing in the growth in the vanity market for wrinkles and hair removal. The
company's lasers are also being used for throat surgery to reduce snoring. And future growth is seen in the dental area as its
lasers can be used for no-noise, no-vibration, painless dental drilling. In 1996, the company reported a net of $1.17 a
share on sales of $58.7 million. So far in the first six months of 1997, the company has posted a net of $0.62 a share on sales
of $35.6 million, versus year-ago net of $0.59 a share on sales of $28.6 million. It should be noted that latest earnings per
share are based on about 1.6 million more shares outstanding than in the year-ago period. For 1997, estimates call for the
company to earn between $1.30 and $1.35 a share, while forecasts for 1998 project a net of $1.60 a share. The positive
feed from the article has propelled the shares to a new 52-week intraday high this morning.
