<<Iraq: Militant Groups United By Common Enemy?

Now sit back and really think about this..

Here was Al-Sadr, 6 months to a year ago, doing his "own thing" (except for his Iranian hardline financiers) and now he's having to ally with the Sunni extremists..

An alternative analysis is that possibly they recognize that the current Iraqi government, and the forthcoming elections in January, are gaining more traction than they had expected...

When we have two diametrically opposed rivals for power cooperating, and potentially joining forces, one can also opine that it's an act of mutural desperation to salvage their own individual causes.

My opinion...
