I get tired of writing this but here I go again. In 1952 I was stationed at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation where there were three regiments of soldiers going and coming back from Korea... I heard many first hand reports of what we call atrocities committed by the men who bragged about it. . How they raped women and threw them down wells. How they cut off the beards of the old men ( it was a symbol of pride for the Koreans )... It was a sobering experience for me and one that changed my life forever from believing as I did that all American troops handed out Hershey bars... which was what we did in WW II.... when we entered a city.

Yes, I believe that MEN all MEN, not just our soldiers commit acts which they would never do were they not in the environment of killing, fear and plunder... WAR MAKES MEN AND WOMEN BEHAVE BADLY. Witness the woman who did the torturing at Gahrib... ex,sp.

So, I believe that atrocities were committed.. and one could witness it... or hear about it .... as I did and do nothing .
