A United States Military Officer, released from active duty is automatically remanded to reserve status to be called to active duty at any time. Once an officer always an officer, never wholly removed from service, except for certain cirumstances, and must adhere to his original Oath. John Kerry, under those circumstances, was a traitor to his country, and many suffered torture and death because of his actions. John Kerry was, and is still, a traitor. During any other war, but Vietnam, he would have been convicted and shot. The mood of the country saved him, as his superior officers did not have the guts to prosecute him, and the politicians to get re-elected.
