I don't think calling someone a pussy is demeaning to women, per se.

Saying a man is effeminate isn't degrading to women, because they don't mean real women, they mean the sort of artificial, high maintenance woman who everybody thinks is a pain in the neck. The kind who can't do any real work because it will mess up their nails. The kind who is always worried about their hairdos and their shoes.

Pretty to look at but useless when real work needs to be done.

That's Kerry. He's got polished nails and a fancy hairdresser, he throws and catches like a girl, and when he walks through the grass he minces on his toes.
