Bob Dole just appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer. CNN was deluged with email after Dole's remarks yesterday about JK's medals. Dole said he received a personal phone call this AM from the candidate. He said that his advice to Kerry was to cool it with his military record. He told him the DNC could not charge GW was AWOL & call Cheney a traitor, and then act abused when Repubs criticize JK's military record. Dole reiterated his doubts about the 3 Purple Hearts with "he doesn't collect disability...he is not disabled in anyway...never bled. When you consider the devastating injuries of other medal receipients it makes you wonder." He also stated that the SwiftVets have a right to air their opinion re Kerry with "why should some veterans get to praise Kerry while the Democrats insist the SwiftVets' ad should be taken off the air?" I've always found Bob Dole to be a very credible person, hopefully he won some undecided votes for Pres Bush.
