Wind? Of course not in the US. Look at Europe for your answer. Vestas, Gamesa. Germany has 20% wind power. They just shut off all their nukes. Hint, hint. But I'm confused, I thought we were talking about solar, and now you mix up solar and wind and China? These are different posts. I made one post about Chinese car demand and a separate one about solar power. I don't want you to get confused.

The ROI on solar power in rural India and China is 20%+. Why? There is no infrastructure, which can cost upwards of $10,000/km. It doesn't take long for distributed power to pay off, unlike the US where distributed power competes with an increasingly unstable, under-maintained and under-financed grid.

You seem intent on exporting our bad habits to China rather than seeing what might be possible with new technology.

The solar data I quoted comes from the EPA. $3.5-$4 per watt hour, 6000w is typical residential install, 900m cars worldwide, 6000w offsets 2 cars. You do the math then. Don't attack mine without providing a different calculation. I have a license from Siemens Solar (now Shell Solar) to design solar installs that I will gladly scan and email you (PM me your email). May I ask your credentials on the subject?

You provided zero data in your post attacking my solar estimation so you obviously are limited to providing anecdotal evidence at best.

Have you made up your mind already or do you truly want to debate this?
