Thanks for your kind remarks and suggestions. As I am not writing for academia, I did not feel obliged to painstakingly document my revisions. I realized in advance that what I was writing would not go well with many readers. (In fact, one reader, jlallen, has just confirmed that he is an ignoramus and he seems quite proud of it. Otherwise he seems to be in a state of denial.....) It cannot be denied that the majority of the folks posting here have had little or no idea of world history largely because history is not given high priority in today's curricula. Also, a large percentage of them were probably born about thirty years ago and, therefore, have little or no knowledge 1. about the Vietnam War (1964-1974); 2. that Americans, of all people, were held hostage for 444 days in Tehran (1979-1981); 3. the Iraq-Iran War (1979-1988) and a slew of other world events. I may appear as a soothsayer and prophet to you. But I am sure there are others who have anticipated my views and have foreseen much more. Don't worry. Canada will soon be generous with its bracing northerlies for you guys down yonder. Be patient for a little longer.
