The teams could talk directly to Qatar, Ft Bragg and/or Tampa.

I am sure they had to be careful jumping the line of command with their Colonel at K2. Probably going NCO to NCO at Campbell, etc. I know they had trouble with rear echelon types keeping "gear in the rear." The latest personal armor, clothing etc. That's normal. During the breakout by Patton, the QM General used up Patton's gas supply moving the QM HQ to Paris! I don't think the Army will ever solve it's logistic problems. Every time we go to war, they have to reinvent what works.

I have heard that the Hagenbeck, CG of the 10th Mountain, was a Pentagon Prince. Rumsfeld, on the other hand, is revered by the SF for what he did for them in Afghanistan. Bush is right up there too. He is known for showing up to visit the troops quietly and unannounced at Walter Reed. The "Bo Derek" connection is interesting.

Nobody has yet talked about the effect of the Swift Vets on Kerry's ability to be CIC. He would have even less respect than Clinton.
