I'm not currently planning to put the ban link in readmsgs, as there's no reason to make bans any easier than they are now. If you or I or a moderator is reading in batch mode and want to ban someone, it's easy enough to put the cursor in the message number box and hit Enter, bringing up that message by itself so the author can be banned. One of the beauties of this system is that it's not possible to pre-emptively ban someone. Another beauty is that you or I (mostly you) can ban someone, even if it's not a moderated thread.

Edit: Bug on Dev? I tried posting this same message there and it showed up in fixed font. If you're observing the same thing, let me know, as I might have a pretty good idea what's causing it.
