redfish, good post. It just goes to show that there is no issue which can be considered as a correct stand. Even Rumsfeld is proposing a reduction in our number of military personnel. So cuts, I feel are proposed by all for various reasons.

It was Kerry who who first proposed the redeployment of our overseas forces and Bush accepted his proposal and announced the redeployment. I ask why so late. If he had announced it before going into Iraq, he would have more proops to deploy in Iraq (probably rotate them). BUt he did not plan it then and now picks up on Kerry's roposal and goes with it.

After all, Bush does not have the military experience that Kerry has and hence is incapable of initiating such ideas from his own end and provide the leadership required of a President.
