Unfortunately, no matter how you approach enemy threats, the result will be the same.
We can preemptively seek out our enemies and destroy them before they have a chance to attack us. Unfortunately, the side effect of this scenario is that we create new enemies. Ultimately, even long time allies, like some of Europe leans today, will become our enemies, and our safety at home is at risk.
Alternatively, we can seek a diplomatic solution, which may weaken our defensive infrastructure, and risk our safety at home.
Either way, it is far more a global issue, than an American one. I have friends that were raised in Israel, and others that were raised in N. Ireland. They speak of terrorism with the tone of “what’s the big deal,” to them it is just part of life. Certainly, I do not want my children, or any future generation to live with terrorism, nor do I expect that it will happen.
Fortunately, for us, technology allows us to communicate across borders with great ease. It allows us Americans to export our freedoms worldwide, and ultimately, with a global understanding our ideology we will win peace, without military occupation. |
