"Conservative Christian, Right Wing Republican, straight American males.

Since you live in Houston, I understand your problem. I spent 42-45 in Woodville, and from 52-53 in Dallas going to SMU. Buried my Father outside of Houston ten years ago. The coming major battle in the Republican party is between the Social Conservatives of the Texas stripe and the Eagles like me. If I want to know anything more about Texas, I will read about it. Anybody who moved there from California has my sympathy. I moved the other way.

The normal politics on veterans is 60/40 Republican. There is no reason to think the Swifties are any different. The Author of "Unfit for Command," John O'Neil. voted for Gore in 2000. His kids didn't even know he debated Kerry until it was shown on CSPAN this year.

What unites them is there dislike of Kerry for his behavior during "Winter Soldier." They would have been out there opposing him the same way even if his Nam record was golden. When they found out from Brinkly's book about how he went about his glory-hunting, that really set them off.

Face it. It's 250 vs 16. And that includes all of his Commanding Officers. Not a pretty picture.

I think you have moved from anger to the next step, denial. Cheer up! Only three more steps to go. :>)
