I like to read what you write, too. I was talking about a critical mass of the thread, the overall tone of the thread, not all individuals.

There are actually very few places on the Internet that are set up for dialogue, and of those few, almost none welcome multiple points of view. This is one.

This thread tolerates multiple points of view most of the time. I think it's too much to say it welcomes them.

I spent several years here on SI on threads with curious people who were engaged by multiple points of view on all sorts of subjects. All gone now. Done in by personalities. I'm still in mourning.

As for Kumar, he's being a bit of an idiot, but somehow he is unable to see that.

I'm hard pressed to see how you can single out Kumar for that judgment...
