Paul, RE:<<Why aren't you bothered by these AMD numbers?>> I'm sure you know that its the PE on future earnings that matters. Right now analysts are expecting $1.02 for '97 and $2.65 for '98. For INTC, the numbers are $4.01 and $4.79. The higher growth rate for AMD justifies a higher PE. From AMD we can certainly expect greater than 25% earnings growth per year until market share becomes 25%. I think it will be possible for INTEL to manage 20% growth in sales past '98, but only by diversifying into areas where it is not the #1 player, therefore earnings growth may be limited to 15% or so.

By the end of the year, the market will value AMD with the same PE on '98 estimates as INTEL, which will result in a stock price of about half of INTELS (INTEL=120, AMD=60 for example)

BTW, Paul, do you know who the Intel spokesman is who responded to an earlier post of mine on this thread? Have you ever seen this before?
