Excellent point. Selectric asked about atrocities, cutting off heads and so forth. Kerry said in his Senate testimony he heard numerous accounts of atrocities and described who heard them from, when he heard them and the backgrounds of those who told him. He repeated on the Dick Cavitt show that he did not personally see such acts.

He did say he participated in what he later found out to be war crimes... burning down houses and so forth. There is a huge difference between cutting off someone's head and burning down their grass house.
