Steve Dietrich says: "It's his ( Kerry's) Anti-war activities I admire the most. It would have been easy for him to come back and concentrate on readjustment to the real world, instead he worked to get his brother's in arms, out of harms way. It took more guts to stand up to the establishment than to be a little cog in the machinery."
And it is Kerry's anti-war activities that will now receive the major attention between now and November.
Kerry's "brothers-in-arms" who the Grand and Heroic Kerry sought to get out of harm's way, are those now leading in the efforts to keep the White House more than arm's length away from that most gallant and courageous man.
So, sarcastic though you may have been, nevertheless you are right, Steve.
Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Bush, speaking for hundreds of thousands of Vietnam veterans, the true heroes of that War, along with millions of other brave soldiers who put country first in taking up arms on her behalf. And not a one of them, other than Kerry, was keeping notes and making films to use as fodder for his forthcoming campaign---first in Massachusetts politics, then in the US Senate from which he has absented himself during his several terms, and now, for the Golden Ring itself.
Those brave men whom he sought to keep out of harm's way are about to show him what they think of his illustrious and well-recorded services. |
