Coby, You are way off on this one. Cleland never claimed to be a hero, but the Army claimed he was a hero: vnsfvetakerry.com His medals had nothing to do with his injuries. And I mention him here because, as you can see by this site, the conservative slimers went after him and are still going after him. Again, mostly chickenhawks doing the mud slinging. They would have been much braver had they seen Oz and gotten some courage. They were also sliming Wes Clark until it was obvious he wouldn't be the nominee. And they smeared McCain. It is a common right wing misdirect tactic to attack where your candidate is weakest.
