I would hold off on the "desperate" designation until we find out how it plays in the media -- Kerry's campaign now is all flash to try to divert attention from the Swifties. The media is in full damage control for him. The advantage the Swift vets have is the human interest story of a gutty little group going up against the Democrats. It is "David vs Goliath." Kerry's problem is that he not only can't refute them, he has conceded on two of their six points already. The desperation is due to the fact that they know if they can't knock them off the air or totally discredit them, they are doomed. The media shield is crumbling.
