Yes, it has held back on reprisals, I am glad you realize that. And maybe we have made resolution harder by pulling the parties apart, as it were. I think that Sharon's current gambit is inspired: change the facts on the ground, disentangle the Palestinians from Israel, and leave them to their own devices, with, perhaps, an incentive to negotiate the final status of East Jerusalem and its suburbs. I would add, offer subsidization of infrastructure development for the renunciation of outstanding claims against land in Israel, most of which are poorly documented (if at all) anyway........
