I've always been baffled by my impression that literary people are often liberal to very left wing. A very few, such as James Kilpatrick and William Buckley, buck this trend, but you do not hear of too many right wing English professors. Back in my college days my English professor was so left wing he had to give me an A to avoid being accused of bias because I challenged everything he said. I did the same thing to my forestry professors, but they did not give me an A for my efforts.

I was offered a pre-order of O'Neil's book at Barnes and Noble, but I decided that by the time I got the book it would be moot, so I kept my $29.
