However this year I am supporting Kerry, because I don't like the way that Bush responded to the war on terror, nor his ill timed and ill planned foray into Iraq. I also disagree with the free wheeling spending going on in Congress which is controlled by the republicans. Discretionary spending is out of control and pork is the watch word of the day...all the while deficits rise and the dollar falls.

I agree with all you say after the first comma.

You assumption is that Kerry would be better. It's an assumption I have seen no basis for making. Certainly his record as a Senator gives me no such hope.

When your house is burning, you have a choice of spraying it with water or with gasoline. Which candidate (if either) is the water and which (if either, or both) the gasoline is the so far unresolved question.
