Has it occurred to you that the NVA KNEW they could never win this war on the battleground, that they PLAYED to the AMERICAN PUBLIC and John Kerry Fonda was among their biggest SAPS. IMHO had Goldwater been elected THEIR NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN A WAR to begin with, cause they felt he was NUTS and would have DESTROYED THEM. Example, we could have bombed the dikes north of Hanoi and ended it in one trip. We could have mined the harbors early on, we could have bombed their cities early on. There is so much WE COULD HAVE DONE but we didnt want to OFFEND anyone. I think I speak for all the Nam Vets when I say if there is anything that PISSES US OFF MORE then the jane fonda Kerry group, it is that we didnt fight this war to WIN. Bush handled Afghanistan and Iraq in a manner to WIN which is why we approve it. Now, we have to WIN the peace, frankly I dont think anyone realized what would be involved, considering the Shia rose up before against Saddam, it was quite reasonable IMHO to believe they would help us all they could to win the peace as being the majority seems to any REASONABLE person they would have significant power in their country THE PEACEFUL WAY. jdn
