Win or lose, Kerry is an honorable man.

How do you know that?

By the way he deals in life......of course.

Even if you knew him personally, and you probably don't, you couldn't be sure. Also people can change and improve. Assuming he is honorable now (and while I'm not going to say he is dishonorable I'm not going to accept his alleged honor as proof of anything) he could have been less honorable in the past.

Because honorable people have come forward and said the accusations are (are false)

If we knew the facts for sure we might know who is honorable. Your begging the question here by assuming those who support Kerry are and those who are against him are not.

because the man who was saved by Kerry agrees with Kerry's understanding of the truth

That is one incident, and also if Kerry saved him he would be more likely to look favorably on Kerry.

because some of the people who are impugning Kerry nowhere honoring him just a few years ago.

Most of them were not.

If Kerry is lying about his service in Vietnam that he is acting dishonorably. If everything he said about it is true then the swiftvets are acting dishonorably. But you just assume Kerry's statements are correct rather then those of the swiftvets or some muddled complex version in between the two claims.

I didn't assume anything.......I did a lot of reading on the subject while I was on SI holiday.

I did a lot of reading as well. No one really knows. You can have opinions, even informed opinions but you do not know, and other people have informed opinions that differ from yours. As far as I am concerned neither side has made their case so I'm still agnostic about the situation.

I wasn't asking you to change your vote.

The statement was hypothetical. "If I was a Kerry supporter..."
